Rae and I are both big Halloween fans, so we thought we’d get into the Halloween spirit around here with a little WAGB Ghoulish Giveaway! And what could be more festive at this time of year than a pair of books about a girl who can hear dead people??
We have not one, but TWO books in Charlaine Harris’ Harper Connelly (Grave) Series to give away!! You can win a paperback copy of Grave Sight, the first book in the series as well as a hardcover copy of the 2nd book in the series Grave Surprise!
Many of you may be familiar with Harris’s work through the very popular Sookie Stackhouse books (some of my fave’s!), so now’s your chance to get to know some of her other work! Here’s a bit about Grave Sight from Amazon:
Ever since Harper Connelly survived a zap from a lightning bolt, she’s been able to find dead people. Harper travels to the Ozark town of Sarne, Ark., to find a missing teenage girl’s body, accompanied by her stepbrother, Tolliver, who acts as her manager and bodyguard and with whom she shares a thinly disguised physical attraction that they manage to keep at bay by engaging in casual sex with various partners. Finding the body takes no time at all, but leaving town afterward isn’t so easy. When Harper’s life is threatened and Tolliver ends up in jail on trumped-up charges, it quickly becomes apparent that something sinister is going on in Sarne. Harris delivers a knuckle-gnawing tale populated with well-developed, albeit edgy characters.
- To enter our Ghoulish Giveaway to receive BOTH these books, just leave a comment telling us what you’re going to be for Halloween this year. If you’re not dressing up this year, tell us what you would like to dress up as if you were going to do the costume thing!
(Be sure to include an accurate email address in the comment field so we can let you know if you won. It won’t be published.) - For an extra entry follow this blog. Be sure to let us know you’re a follower so we can give you the extra entry.
- Post or tweet about this giveaway for another entry. Please leave a link where we can verify this!
The Halloween giveaway closes at midnight Sunday, October 31, 2010.
*We really hate to impose any restrictions, but due to high mailing costs, this giveaway is only open to those who have Canadian or US mailing addresses. Our sincerest apologies to those readers outside North America.

I don’t think I’m going to dress up this year. Last year I dressed up as a Cyndi Lauper inspired rockstar and I won “Most Confusing” in the costume contest at work. It made the work of the costume not seem worth it. Last year I was thinking about being Sue Sylvester so if I was dressing up this year that’s probably who I would be.

I am going to be a beach bum this year at work! I teach middle school so my outfit will consist of a straw hat, a camera, a lei, hawaiian shirt, etc. Thanks for this giveaway and I am a follower of this blog!
I’m not dressing up, but if I did, it would be Eleanor of Aquitaine. I’ve been on a real kick about her this year! Most of the online costume companies have some great medieval queen costumes that would work great for this.

Thank you for the giveaway! I’m not dressing up this year, but if I could, I would be a train conductor–my two year old loves trains and train conductors so he would get a kick out of mommy dressing up as one. I am an old follower through GFC Melissa @ Mel’s Books and Info and I tweeted:

I’m not dressing up as anything for Halloween this year (unless you count whatever snazzy clothes I may or may not wear for a Samhain ritual), but I do have next year’s costume in the works. Then, I’ll be dressing as a geisha, complete with handmade kimono, impossibly fancy hairdo, makeup, the whole shebang. It’ll be a lot of work, but I’ve been looking forward to being able to do that costume for years, and I’m glad I can finally start on the real preparations! My roommate will be dressing as one with me, and a friend of ours has offered to be our client for the evening, so we can escort and entertain him. :p
Oh yes, and I follow your blog. :3
This year I will not be dressing up but I would like to dress up as a nurse.

I’m dressing up as a lab tech since I have to work Halloween. If I could dress up I would go as a naughty angel or a pussycat doll which is something totally opposite of me.

I’m probably going as either a pirate or the Mad Hatter if I can talk my husband into being the March Hare.

I am going to be a witch this Halloween. I am a GFC follower. Good luck everyone!
I am not dressing up this year. But if I did I think I would be a witch since I live in a house full of males, somedays I just feel like one.
I am a new follower also.
I’m not dressing up this year but I have seen some great Maleficent costumes so I might dress up as her next year
